Healthcare
We are at the forefront of research into the use of molecular hydrogen in medicine. Our focus is on developing innovative therapeutic methods based on the unique properties of this promising molecule.
Molecular hydrogen was identified in 2007 as an effective selective antioxidant by Professor Shigeo Ohta, Ph.D., from Nippon Medical School. This groundbreaking discovery, published in the prestigious journal Nature Medicine, sparked intense research in the field of biomedicine.
Since 2007, more than 3,500 clinical studies and research papers have been conducted worldwide, confirming the potential of molecular hydrogen in various areas of medicine.

Method for the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease
We have obtained patents for a promising method of treating Alzheimer’s disease using molecular hydrogen. This innovative approach reduces oxidative stress, a key factor in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s. It offers long-term improvement in cognitive functions and overall quality of life for patients.
The graph shows the change in ADAS-Cog (with a lower value indicating improvement, a higher value indicating deterioration) since the initial time of inhalation of molecular hydrogen gas. Participants inhaled molecular hydrogen for 1 hour twice daily for 6 months. This period was followed by a 1-year period without inhalation. The ADAS-Cog was performed for the first 6 months (H₂ patients only) and every 6 months thereafter.
Clinical evidence of the effects
What Randomized clinical trials did show
Safety and efficacy of molecular hydrogen inhalation as well as improvement in patients with mild cognitive impairment after just one year of using hydrogen water.
What Diffuse Tensor Imaging (DTI) studies did show
Hydrogen inhalation improves neuronal quality and connectivity. Demonstrated by advanced MRI techniques, specifically diffusion tensor imaging.
Case studies of molecular hydrogen
Prevention of dementia in pre-dementia status (Ohta 2018)
Hydrogen inhalation in patients with Alzheimer’s disease: A study on patients with AD showed that hydrogen inhalation for 6 months led to improvements in ADAS-cog scores, and these improvements persisted for up to 1 year.
Fundamental improvement of Alzheimer’s disease (Ohta 2022)
Improvement in a 79-year-old patient with advanced AD: A case study on a 79-year-old patient who inhaled hydrogen for 2 years showed improvements in neuron quality and incontinence management.
Improvement even in advanced Alzheimer’s (Ohta 2023)
Cognitive function and decline rate: A study published in Dementia & Geriatric Cognitive Disorders found that hydrogen inhalation improved cognitive function and slowed cognitive decline in patients with AD.
Our further focus
Obesity and diabetes
A unique research has started at the Bludov Spa to investigate the effect of molecular hydrogen on weight loss in obese children.
Rheumatism
Inhalation of molecular hydrogen improves the physical fitness of patients with rheumatic diseases. This is the result of a study that took place for almost 2 years
Dental care
Molecular hydrogen has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects that can help reduce oxidative stress in the oral cavity and promote gum regeneration.
